Victim Identified in Fatal I-95 Accident in Guilford: UPDATE

Police say that car ended up leaving the road and ended up hitting several trees early Tuesday.

GUILFORD, CT — Kelly Reynolds, 38, of New Haven died after her car drove off the highway and onto the shoulder of Interstate 95 near Exit 57 in Guilford early Tuesday, according to media reports. It's unclear what caused Reynold's car to leave the highway but her vehicle hit a guardrail and sign, and then crashed into several trees, NBC Connecticut reports.

The damage to the car was "catastrophic," NBC Connecticut reports. She died on the scene. A tree fell on a portion of the road. WTNH News 8 reports that the accident occurred at 12:30 a.m. and that the highway was shut down for several hours but has since reopened for Tuesday's morning commute.
