Volunteer Officer Appointments Announced By Guilford Fire Department

The department said the establishment of the volunteer officer positions "represents an important step forward."

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Fire Department this week announced several volunteer officer appointments.

"These appointments follow a structured and thoughtful selection process," the GFD said in an announcement. "The department would like to sincerely thank each of these members for the hard work, preparation, and dedication they demonstrated throughout the process. Their willingness to step forward and serve in leadership roles reflects a strong commitment to the department and to the community we serve."

The department said the establishment of the volunteer officer positions "represents an important step forward in supporting our members, strengthening our command structure, and ensuring continued operational readiness."

The appointments are as follows:

  • Deputy Chief of Operations (volunteer): Dan Fisher
  • Deputy Chief of Administration (Volunteer): Rob Auger
  • Captain (volunteer): Kyle Johnson
  • Captain (volunteer): Oscar Ginz
  • Lieutenant (volunteer): Eric Davidson
  • Lieutenant (volunteer): Bill Ostrander
  • Lieutenant (volunteer): Mike Speringo

"The Guilford Fire Department would also like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank our legacy officers for their many years of dedicated service to the Guilford Fire Department and the Guilford community," the department added. "Their leadership, experience, and commitment have helped build the foundation that we continue to strengthen today. We are grateful for their service and contributions."
