Wireless Zone- Verizon Wireless Receives Top Small Business Award for New England

Locally owned and family operated Wireless Zone of Guilford, a Verizon Premium Wireless Retailer, received the prestigious award of ‘Top Location for Small Business Gross Adds,’ at the Verizon Wireless Northeast Indirect Agent Kickoff in Boston, MA on February 4th of 2015. The award was given to the franchise location with the most new activations for business accounts.

Matt Schloemann, managing partner in Guilford, started focusing on business to business sales early in his career with Verizon Wireless. When promoted from sales representative to manager, he trained Dave Anderson, the current assistant manager, how to best serve small business accounts. Together, the team in Guilford grew the B2B relationships through extensive networking and an emphasis on saving local businesses as much money as they could in regards to their phones, tablets and other wireless services.

Some of the larger accounts Wireless Zone of Guilford acquired in 2014 include Ferraros Foods, American Cruise Lines and Centerplan Construction. This location also serves the Visiting Nurses Association and works closesly to support their nonprofit organization by sponsoring seveal events throughout the year, including their annual breakfast.

“Small business is fantastic because it grounds you in the community, helps you promote the product beyond the store walls and gives people the chance to really know our company,” says Matt Schloemann. “The market for SMB sales is untapped, and we plan to penetrate it in 2015 in support of our local businesses.”

The annual Verizon Wireless Northeast Indirect Agent Kickoff hosts approximately 2,500 franchise owners, account managers and indirect store managers. They applaud the agents who have exceled in 2014 and explore opportunities, initiatives and growth strategies for the upcoming year. Wireless Zone of Guilford and its respective partners, including primary franchise owners Scott Gladstone and Neil Ryan, were thrilled to receive the award and accompanied accolades at this event.
