"YOUTH SHOULD VOTE!" Student Video Contest
High School Students create a 30-second PSA (public service announcement) to encourage all young people to register and vote.

The League of Women Voters of the East Shore invites High School students from Branford, North Branford, Guilford and Madison, to help us get the message out:
Let young people know why they should care about voting. Let them know why their voice matters.

. Prizes will be awarded: $150.00 for top entry; $100.00 second prize; and $50.00 third prize.
Contest submissions must be uploaded to YouTube and entry and release forms received by email before midnight, May 1, 2016. Winners will be announced by May 20, 2016. Judges will be members of the League of Women Voters–East Shore.

The League is interested in involving young citizens in our Democracy. We know that voter registration and voter turnout rates for young people (18 to 29) consistently fall below that of older citizens. In 2014, youth voter turnout fell to its lowest level on record. We hope that this video contest will heighten awareness among Shoreline young citizens.
