Man Charged In Shooting In Hamden: Police

One person was hospitalized after the shooting, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Hamden that sent one person to the hospital on Friday night, police said in an update on Monday.

Police responded around 7:10 p.m. on March 20 to the 500 block of Mix Avenue on the report of gunshots and a man fleeing the area, according to Lt. Robert Manfield.

Manfield said officers found a 32-year-old man in the road suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition, according to Manfield.

Manfield said an investigation indicated that the victim was involved in a domestic-related dispute before the shooting.

Silas Harris, 60, was arrested Monday on a warrant and charged with first-degree assault and carrying a pistol without a permit.

He was held in lieu of a $300,000 bond with a court date of April 6.

The incident remains under investigation, according to Manfield.
