2 Hospitalized After Crash On Route 15 In Hamden

The two victims were extricated from the vehicle after the crash on Thursday afternoon.

HAMDEN, CT — A man and a woman were hospitalized after their vehicle crashed head-on into a tree on Route 15 North near Exit 61 on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at about 1:53 p.m. Firefighters extricated both victims and treatment was initiated at the scene, according to Deputy Fire Chief Gary Merwede.

Both victims were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

The accident scene was turned over to Connecticut State Police for investigation.
