2 Students Arrested, Stun Gun Seized At Hamden High School: Police

Police said two students were arrested, and a stun gun was seized, after an incident Tuesday morning at Hamden High School.

HAMDEN, CT — Two students were arrested, and police seized a stun gun, after an incident Tuesday morning at Hamden High School, according to officials.

Hamden High School Resource Officer Jeremy Brewer was made aware around 11 a.m. of a verbal argument between two juvenile students at Hamden High School, 2040 Dixwell Avenue, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

Vey said Brewer found a stun gun during the investigation.

“The stun gun had the appearance of a cell phone, and was the only weapon that was involved, and seized as evidence,” Vey wrote in a news release.

Two female juvenile students were charged in connection with the incident. The first juvenile, of Hamden, was charged with breach of peace and possession of a weapon on school grounds.

The second juvenile, also of Hamden, was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds. Both juveniles have court dates in February, according to Vey.

“Extra patrol units were on scene at Hamden High School during the incident, and for the duration of the school day,” Vey said. “No one was injured and at this time, there is no active threat to students or staff.”
