3 Stores Robbed At Gunpoint In Same Day: Hamden Police
Police are investigating three armed robberies that happened Monday in Hamden.
HAMDEN, CT — Three stores were robbed at gunpoint Monday in Hamden, according to police.
The first robbery happened at Krauszer’s, 16 Fairview Ave., around 4:20 p.m. when the suspect walked behind the counter and ordered the clerk to open the register.
The suspect pointed a “long-barreled handgun” at the clerk and then left heading north on Fairview Avenue, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. An undisclosed amount of money was stolen, Smith said.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Nick’s Package Store, 2644 State St. around 8:30 p.m. Two suspects entered the store and one of them struck the clerk “on the head with a firearm,” according to Smith. The suspects left after stealing an undisclosed amount of money.
Then, at about 8:50 p.m., police responded to French-Italian Imports at 4 Circular Ave. on the report of an armed robbery. Two suspects entered the store brandishing guns. One of them stole an undisclosed amount of money while the other held the clerk at gunpoint, according to Smith. They were last seen heading toward Notkins Street.
