3rd Annual Hamden Fest To Take Place June 11

HAMDEN, CT — Kicking off the summer season, the Third Annual Hamden Fest, sponsored by the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Hamden, will take place on Saturday, June 11, at Hamden’s Town Center Park and it promises to be bigger than ever, according to organizers.

Last year’s Hamden Fest brought more than 8,000 spectators to Town Center Park, to enjoy a full day of events. This year’s Hamden Fest will include the Hamden 5K Road Race & Kids’ Fun Run, Business Expo, Kids & Sports Zone, the Friends of the Hamden Public Library Book Sale Fundraiser, live bands, entertainment, food trucks and the Arts, Crafts & Civic Festival and more.

“Last year, we were able to host Hamden Fest, though in September due to the pandemic,” said Nancy Dudchik, Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce President. “It was a great success, but we knew then that we wanted to return Hamden Fest to early June, to be the official kick-off event for the summer season at Hamden’s Town Center Park. We and the Town of Hamden have been working ever since to bring together the biggest community event ever, to celebrate all that Hamden has to offer. We want people to come out and celebrate our businesses, our arts, and all of what makes our community so rich.”

The featured concert, the Wendy May Band, presented by the Hamden Department of Arts & Culture, starts at 7 p.m.

“Hamden Fest is an extravaganza of events and activities, all taking place in Hamden’s Town Center Park,” officials wrote in a news release. “The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce partners with the Town of Hamden to present this exciting event, that kicks off the summer season at Hamden’s Town Center Park. Come enjoy this lively festival that will bring together businesses, arts, culture and community.”
