3rd Suspect Charged In Theft Of Elderly Man’s Wallet: Hamden PD

A 71-year-old man's wallet was stolen at a supermarket and his credit cards were used at numerous businesses, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A third suspect has been arrested in connection to the theft of an elderly man’s wallet in October, according to police. A 71-year-old Federal Street resident reported on Oct. 2 that his wallet had been stolen while shopping at a local supermarket. The victim told police that the wallet contained several credit cards, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that the stolen credit cards were used at numerous businesses in Hamden and New Haven to purchase $678.31 worth of various items.

Officer Justin Thibault conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the application of arrest warrants for Christopher McDaniel, Crystal Frazier and Jennifer Frazier, according to Smith. The court approved the arrest warrant applications.

McDaniel, Crystal and Jennifer Frazier were all taken into custody in West Haven on Nov. 21. McDaniel was transported to the Hartford Correctional Center while Crystal and Jennifer Frazier were transported to Hamden Police Headquarters, according to Smith.

On Nov. 30, Hamden Police formally arrested Christopher McDaniel at Meriden Superior Court.

McDaniel, 42, of Maple Avenue in Enfield, was charged with criminal impersonation, receiving stolen goods, second-degree forgery and sixth-degree larceny. He was detained on a court-ordered $25,000 bond and arraigned on Nov. 30.

Hamden Police arrested Crystal and Jennifer Frazier on Nov. 21.
