Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Board of Directors Welcomes Two New Members
The Board welcomed Diane Teixeira, Ion Bank branch manager in Waterbury, and Patricia Clemente, AVP, Thomaston Savings Bank in Waterbury

The Board of Directors of Acts 4 Ministry, Inc., a non-denominational, non-profit charitable organization in Waterbury, announced the addition of two new members: Diane Teixeira of Naugatuck, Ion Bank Branch Manager in two Waterbury branches, and Patricia Clemente of Waterbury, regional manager/AVP, Business Development, Thomaston Savings Bank in Waterbury.
“Acts 4 Ministry is growing with great vigor. As our organization grows, so does our non-profit need to expand our board of directors with individuals from different arenas throughout the Greater Waterbury region. Our existing board sought individuals who would bring experience with specific disciplines,” says Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta, Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Executive Director. “These two additional new members to the board bring an intelligence and strength which will help us achieve the next level of growth. Their community mindset will provide the necessary guidance to the organization.”
Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. is dedicated to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs. “Our mission,” explains Carabetta, “is to provide individuals or families who have suddenly lost their homes to a fire, flood or other unexpected devastation or upsetting life event to come to our facility to personally select clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and other basic needs at no charge.

We partner with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs regardless of their faith, race, creed, or national origin, or their willingness to participate in religious activities.” Each year the organization distributes over 20,000 articles clothing and delivers over 3,000 pieces of furniture with house wares to people of varying income levels throughout the Greater Waterbury area.
Diane G. Teixeira, has been an employee of Ion Bank, formerly the Naugatuck Savings Bank, for more than ten years. Currently she is the Bank’s manager of two branches in Waterbury, and a regional manager for four years. In 2015 she chose to step down from the position to focus on her family. Prior to joining Ion Bank, she worked with the Bank of America for seven years in various positions within the retail banking department. Ms. Teixeira currently volunteers as the publicity director for the Naugatuck Youth Soccer Board; tournament director for the Naugatuck Invitational Soccer Tournament; committee member for the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce Duck Day & Race; and co-chair of the Waterbury Regional Chamber’s Lakewood Wolcott Street Association.

Patricia Clemente has been the business development officer with Thomaston Savings Bank in Thomaston since 2011. Previously she was store manager/vice president with Wells Fargo Bank in Waterbury, and a senior financial specialist/vice president with Wachovia Bank/First Union National Bank in Waterbury. In her current position, her role is to maintain, service and deepen existing small business and consumer relationships; acquire additional small business and highly-profitable customer segments within the Greater Waterbury region; plus provide leadership in branch sales efforts and self-development through staff coaching and mentoring. To date, Ms. Clemente has volunteered for Board positions with the Hispanic Coalition, the Greater Waterbury Boys and Girls Club, SELF Inc. – the Supportive Environmental Living Facility, and the Watertown/Oakville Chamber of Commerce.
Additional members of the Acts 4 Ministry Board of Directors are chairwoman Ellen Rogers, retired school teacher of Cheshire; Robert Zdanowski, CMA, Vishay International of Waterbury; Susie Jones-Szoldra, LCSW, of Plymouth and a staff member with DaVita Waterbury Heights; Dave Rogers, retired project manager with IBM Corporation of Cheshire; and Peter Damore of Wolcott, a business project manager with Cigna insurance, Timothy Blankenship, of Southington with Ameriprise Financial; Luke Florian of Southington with Freedom Property Holdings, LLC; Angela Holmes of Waterbury with Waterbury Hospital.
