Acts 4 Minstry & Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries Served Full Thanksgiving Dinners to Area Residents-In-Need
The two non-profit organizations prepared and delivered full turkey dinners to 11 families-in-need in the Waterbury area

On Sunday, November 20, 2016, Acts 4 Ministry Inc. in Waterbury, a non-denominational, non-profit charitable organization, and the not-for-profit Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries (GWIM) served full Thanksgiving meals to 11 Waterbury families and 1 Torrington resident. Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries provided the turkey meals, and the Acts 4 Ministry volunteer staff set up furnishing and table dressings to place the meal.
“We are very grateful to work with Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries to annually bring hot foods and holiday cheer to families and individuals throughout the region during Thanksgiving,” stated Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta, Acts 4 Ministry Executive Director.

Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. is dedicated to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs. “Our mission is to provide individuals or families who have suddenly lost their homes to a fire, flood or other unexpected devastation or upsetting life event to come to our facility to personally select clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and other basic needs at no charge,” explained Carabetta.
The organization partners with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs in the context of the broader community regardless of their faith, race, creed, or national origin, or their willingness to participate in religious activities.”

Acts 4 Ministry’s building at 1713 Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury houses a retail store environment where people with immediate ‘basic living needs’ can select clothing, furniture and household items at no cost. The non-profit organization’s retail store is also open to the general public on Fridays 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for the purchase of gently-used clothing, furniture and household goods.
