Albert Magnus Baseball Team Helps With Community Clean-Up

The team went out in small groups, due to COVID-19 restrictions, and cleaned sections of the town parks.

The Albertus Magnus College athletic department continues to impact the broader community in positive ways and remains committed to the four pillars of the College - community, service, prayer, and study. To make-up for a loss of athletic competitions, each of the athletic teams has been participating in different service projects, including community clean-up, virtual athletic clinics, and helping those in need by showing our gratitude for the people who continue to serve our communities each day.

The Albertus Magnus baseball team volunteered its time and energy cleaning up trash and beautifying the community with the town of Hamden Parks and Recreation Department, an organization that the baseball team has an existing relationship with, due to their many years working closely together on different initiatives. The team went out in small groups, due to COVID-19 restrictions, and cleaned sections of the town parks.

"We love giving back to the community in any way that we can, as it helps to develop a stronger bond," said fifth-year senior Matt Warren (Wolcott, Conn.).

"We are happy to continue our relationship with Hamden Parks and Recreation," head coach Brian Leighton said. "The opportunity to support our local community and build upon that relationship is a no-brainer for everyone involved."
