Crews stretched a hose line through a rear door and encountered a fire in the kitchen, which they quickly extinguished.

Additional firefighters searched for any extension of the fire into other areas of the home, according to the department.

Fire officials determined the blaze started on the stovetop after a pot of oil overheated and ignited.

No residents or firefighters were injured. The American Red Cross responded to assist the family, officials said.
