Hamden Man, 35, Critically Injured In Motorcycle Crash In New Haven: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT—Just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, at the intersection of Ella T. Grasso Blvd. and Crescent Street, a 35-year-old Hamden man who'd crashed his motorcycle into Beaver Ponds was rescued by firefighters, ambulance EMTs, and bystanders, officials said.

The location is at the end of the boulevard in the Beaver Pond neighborhood on the edge of Southern Connecticut State University.

Police said that the "initial investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling north on Grasso through the intersection and off the road into a nearby body of water."

The man was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he is listed with critical life-threatening injuries, police said.

The New Haven Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit responded and is investigating the incident.
