• Connecticut still has parkway entrance ramps with stop signs. Here's what could change (nhregister.com) — State transportation officials plan major safety upgrades at Hamden's Wilbur Cross Parkway Interchange 51, where hundreds of crashes have occurred in recent years. Starting in 2028, they'll remove stop signs, add acceleration and deceleration lanes, and improve sidewalks and crosswalks along Whitney Avenue, with a public meeting set for Sept. 15 to explain the $28 million project.
• Collegians: Mid-Hudson Valley residents graduate from Quinnipiac University (dailyfreeman.com subscription) — Quinnipiac University in Hamden is spotlighted as several Mid-Hudson Valley students earn advanced and bachelor's degrees there, including nursing, marketing, and communications. For Hamden residents, it's another reminder of the university's regional draw and the role its programs play in training professionals who come from well beyond Connecticut.
