Hamden Falls To Lauralton Hall In Field Hockey Season Opener: PHOTOS (patch.com) — Hamden High's field hockey team started its season with a tough 7-0 road loss to Lauralton Hall but is quickly turning the page toward its home opener against North Haven at Hamden High School. Local fans can also look ahead to matchups with North Branford and Guilford as the Green Dragons settle into their fall schedule.

Hamden Student Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist (patch.com) — A Hamden Hall Country Day School student, Ruoxi Zhou, has been named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, putting Hamden on a very exclusive academic map. She'll now compete for a share of 6,700 scholarships worth about $24 million, with finalists announced in February and winners beginning in April.
   

3. Hamden Private School Sued After Teacher Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Student (patch.com) — A former Hamden Hall Country Day School student has filed a lawsuit alleging sexual abuse by a former teacher, who was previously arrested by Hamden police and has pleaded not guilty. The suit claims the school failed to protect the student, while administrators say they reported concerns, removed the teacher, and tightened safety procedures.
   

4. Hamden EDC looking for student support on transportation initiatives (quchronicle.com) — Hamden officials and Quinnipiac leaders are inviting students and residents to help shape a $300 million Bus Rapid Transit project that will revamp routes, streetscapes, and EV infrastructure through town. Public forums and online comment tools are open now, and the Economic Development Commission is also seeking student volunteers for commissions and potential business-launch workshops tied directly to Hamden's economy.
