HAMDEN, CT — Thousands of riders and volunteers participated in the 16th Annual Closer to Free Ride on Saturday, Sept. 19.
The annual cycling event raises funds for research and patient care at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center.
Hamden was the site of an official cheer station for riders on Saturday morning.
Fundraising will remain open through Dec. 31, according to the Closer to Free Ride website.
