Members of Hamden Elks Lodge #2224 recently attended a 'baby shower' event at the VA Medical Center in West Haven. The Lodge Veterans Committee has been collecting clothing, toys, and many other items contributed by members. The donations totaled $3,800 and will help support military women and their families.

The Women Veterans Program hosted baby shower at the West Haven campus was for female veterans enrolled with the program who are currently expecting or recently had a baby. The shower included gifts for each attendee made possible through donations from several organizations. The Elks pledge, "So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them." The Elks extend that pledge further, vowing service to our nation's veterans and military members, with a special focus on helping those in need.
