Anna Elizabeth (Libby) Bowers, 80

Anna Elizabeth (Libby) Bowers, 80 of Hamden went home to be with the Lord May 24, 2011.

Anna was born April 22, 1931 in Harve-de-Grace, MD to the late Bishop George H. and Nellie R. Brooks. In 1950, the family moved to New Haven where her father became the Pastor of Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, of which she remained a faithful member until the Lord took her home.

For 61 years she has been a faithful member of Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, serving in whatever way she could to exalt the Body of Christ. Anna had a passion and strong love for Christian Education. For 39 years she served as Superintendent of Beulah Heights Sunday School. She was also a faithful member of the Connecticut District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World for over 63 years. She served the council in the following capacities: CDC Youth Department Secretary, CDC Secretary, and CDC Christian Education Department. Still there was more for Anna to do.
