HAMDEN, CT — Several Quinnipiac University students will need to make new living arrangements for the fall semester after being told this week that their residence halls will be unavailable due to asbestos removal, according to NBC Connecticut.

NBC reports Quinnipiac notified families that the Larson, Perlroth and Troup Residence Halls on the Mt. Carmel campus will be unavailable during the 2019-20 school year after asbestos was found. The students will now be assigned to alternative on-campus residence halls.

For the displaced students, Quinnipiac is offering “a $1,000 housing credit for the 2020-21 academic year, an upgraded parking pass with Mount Carmel privileges for those being moved to York Hill and no additional cost for those who will be receiving a kitchen,” according to the Quinnipiac Chronicle.
