Attempted Break-In Reported At Quinnipiac Student’s Home

A Quinnipiac student reported a man tried to break into her university-owned home Thursday night in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — An unknown man tried to break into a Quinnipiac University student’s off-campus home Thursday night in Hamden, according to multiple reports.

The female student reported that a man tried to break into the university-owned home in the area of West Woods Road and Kimberly Avenue around 6:30 p.m., according to WFSB 3.

WTNH News 8 reported the suspect fled the area before police arrived and wasn’t found.

School officials reminded students to keep their windows and doors secured and said public safety officers will have an increased presence in the area of Kimberly Avenue and West Woods Road, according to WTNH.

A Bridgeport man was arrested last week after police said he was caught trying to break into the homes of two female Quinnipiac students.

Police said an investigation found that Adiel Viana-Ribeiro, 24, works as a delivery driver and drives passengers for app-based service companies. He is accused of specifically targeting houses where he previously made deliveries to women, according to police.
