ATV Driver Fired Shot At Vehicle: Hamden Police
Police said a "large number" of ATVs surrounded a vehicle and one of the drivers kicked the vehicle and another fired a gunshot.
HAMDEN, CT — An ATV driver fired a gunshot at a vehicle Sunday in Hamden, according to police. The shooting happened in the area of Morse Street and Saint Mary Street while the driver of the vehicle was surrounded by a “large group” of ATVs, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said the driver of the vehicle, a 62-year-old Hamden resident, was traveling eastbound on Morse Street around 5 p.m. when he was surrounded by a "large number" of ATVs. While in motion, the operator of one of the ATVs kicked the victim’s vehicle, according to Smith.
“Seconds later, an ATV operator fired a gunshot at his vehicle,” Smith said. “The large group of ATV operators subsequently fled eastbound on Morse Street.”

There were no reported injuries. A bullet hole was found in the fender of the victim’s vehicle and the driver’s side door had a dent from the kick, according to Smith.
Smith said there were around 50 ATVs that were seen traveling throughout Hamden throughout the day.
