Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run: Hamden Police
The driver left the scene after hitting a bicyclist Friday night in Hamden, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle that left the scene Friday night in Hamden, according to police.
Police responded to the 1400 block of Whitney Avenue around 8:45 p.m. on the report of a bicyclist hit by a vehicle, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.
An investigation found that the bicyclist was traveling south on Whitney Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that was also traveling south, according to Dolan.

Dolan said the vehicle left the scene and is believed to have front-end and passenger-side damage. A passerby saw the victim on the side of the road and called 911, according to Dolan.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Dolan said.

Any witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to call the Hamden Police Department at 203-230-4000. Callers can remain anonymous.
Officer Kevin Hall is the lead investigator of the accident, according to Dolan.
