HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University will host a fireside chat with Cindi Bigelow, third-generation president and CEO of family-owned Bigelow Tea, on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
Bigelow will speak with Holly Raider, dean of Quinnipiac’s School of Business, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Center for Communications, Computing and Engineering, Room 101, on the Mount Carmel Campus, 275 Mount Carmel Ave. Click here to register.
Recently, Bigelow Tea was certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) as a woman-owned and operated small business in the United States.
Before assuming this key role, Bigelow spent over 20 years in all areas of the company that her grandmother founded in 1945. The company is headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut, with additional manufacturing plants in Idaho and Kentucky. Bigelow Tea is the market leader in specialty teas in the country. The company, makers of “Constant Comment,” remains a 100% family-owned business and employs 450 people, producing over a billion tea bags annually in the USA. Under her leadership, Bigelow Tea became the top specialty tea company in 2002 and in 2020 became the No. 1 overall tea company in the country.
The event is hosted in part by Quinnipiac's M&T Bank Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
