Taste of the City Restaurant, located at 940 Dixwell Ave., opened at the end of January, and the new and up coming restaurant is worth a visit.
They offer a seafood – soul food menu that will make your mouth water with Soul Food dinners, seafood Dinners, specialty burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, salads and side orders.
They offer eat in, take out or delivery for meals $15.00 or more to the surrounding area. They also offer their facility for special events, bridal showers, and birthdays. Future plans include music and open mike night, along with other entertainment for patrons.

Nestled in a corner of the Dixwell Avenue shopping center, the stunning restaurant sure to be a success. Just open the door and the place jumps out at you -- it is much larger than it looks from the outside.
Inside you are greeted with a wood and marble bar surrounded by real woodwork. A mural of a city painted on the walls embrace customers as they eat. The restaurant seats 40 comfortably, with glass tables and comfortable chairs. Televisions on the wall complete the comfortable atmosphere.

Owner/Operator Jaconna Sowell said “Business is going well”. They have not yet had a grand opening but plan to have one when the weather improves. They are happy with their location, which has room to expand.
