Bomb Threat Evacuates Planet Fitness In Hamden: Police

HAMDEN, CT — A bomb threat temporarily evacuated Planet Fitness in Hamden on Thursday, according to police.

Police responded to Planet Fitness at 2100 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a bomb threat, which was initially reported to the New Haven Police Department, according to Hamden Police Lt. Raymond Quinn.

Quinn said the building was evacuated and searched by members of the New Haven Police Department bomb squad.

“Nothing suspicious was found,” Quinn wrote in a news release on Thursday night. “The building was reopened a short time later. There is no threat to the public at this time.”

The incident is being investigated by the Hamden and New Haven Police Departments with the assistance of the FBI New Haven Office.
