Boy, 7, Falls From Third-Floor Window In Hamden

The boy was hospitalized after the fall on Tuesday night.

HAMDEN, CT — A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after falling out of third-floor window in Hamden on Tuesday night, according to police.

At about 8:45 p.m. on March 7, Hamden Police responded to a condominium at 2390 State Street on the report of a fall victim. Central Communications advised responding officers that a juvenile had fallen from a third-floor window, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Hamden firefighters were rendering medical assistance to a 7-year-old boy when officers arrived on the scene. Smith said the boy was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with a broken femur.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the boy went to bed at 8:30p.m., according to Smith.

“Moments later, his mother heard ‘screaming’ coming from outside of her residence,” Smith said. “When she went to investigate the screams, she located her son lying on the ground.”

The Hamden Police Department Detective Division is continuing the investigation.
