Burglary Suspect Helps Himself to the Fridge: Hamden PD

Hamden Police say that in addition to burglarizing a home, a 55-year-old man also consumed food and beverages while he was there.

HAMDEN, CT – A burglary suspect not only stole jewelry and other items from a Hamden home, but apparently helped himself to the refrigerator while he was there, according to police.

Hamden Police arrested Leonard Flynn, 55, on a warrant Thursday in connection to a July 2, 2015 forcible burglary at a Prospect Street residence.

Capt. Ronald Smith said investigation revealed that entry was gained through a rear door. Once inside, an individual, who was later identified as Flynn, stole several items, including jewelry and coins.

In addition, Flynn consumed various food items and beverages, according to Smith.

Detective William C. Onofrio conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Flynn.

Hamden Police arrested Flynn at Meriden Superior Court on March 3.

Flynn, of 288 Terrace Avenue, West Haven, was charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.

Flynn, who was detained on a court-ordered $25,000 bond, was arraigned later in the day.
