Closures, Parking Ban Announced In Hamden
Officials are advising residents of a parking ban and other closures that will be in effect due to the snow in the forecast.

Town Buildings Closure

Mayor Lauren Garrett has directed all non-essential town buildings, including Government Center, Keefe Community Center, and all Hamden Public Library buildings, be closed to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 13. All non-essential employees are asked to work from home.
Staff will remain available via phone and email to provide services remotely, and we encourage the public to take advantage of our remote service options whenever possible. Many functions can be performed remotely, both quickly and easily, without coming to the office.

Parking Ban
Town officials have issued a parking ban for the Town of Hamden, effective Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 12 a.m. until further notice. The ban is being declared pursuant to Section 71.03 of the Code of the Town of Hamden. The parking ban prohibits any person to park, or allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any odd numbered portion of a town street or highway.
The ban further prohibits any person to allow or permit a vehicle to stand or park on any Town street or highway in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The Hamden Police Department is authorized, pursuant to Section 71.07 of the Code of the Town of Hamden, to remove any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance. Such removal shall be at the risk and expense of the owner of the vehicle.

Warming Center at Keefe Community Center
The Warming Center at Keefe Community Center will remain open from 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12 through 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14. Click here for more information.
Transfer Station
The Hamden Transfer Station will be closed due to the weather and associated clean-up operations on Tuesday, Feb. 13, until further notice.

Trash Pick-Up
Trash and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day due to the anticipated inclement weather. The pick-up normally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 13 will occur on Wednesday, Feb. 14, and so forth, culminating in Friday's pick-up taking place on Saturday.
Brooksvale Park
The Skating Pond at Brooksvale Park is closed.
