Companions & Homemakers Caregiver Earns Recognition
Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter South Central Region Presents Excellence in Caregiving Award

Charming B. Rumble, a Companions & Homemakers caregiver, has received an Alzheimer’s Association 2019 Caregiver of the Year Award from the Connecticut chapter’s South Central region.
The Alzheimer’s Association presented a Certificate of Excellence in Caregiving to Rumble at their 2019 Appreciation Luncheon, held on Friday, November 22 at The Spring Glen Church in Hamden. The event paid tribute to the important role individual caregivers play in the day-to-day lives of those who have Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
Rumble has been a caregiver since July 2016, and has most recently been a live-in caregiver for Orange resident Marilyn Z. “With her expertise and knowledge she makes home possible for her client. She provides constant companionship, care, and engagement,” explained C&H Branch Manager Kelley Green.

Companions & Homemakers has supported the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which raises money and awareness for Alzheimer’s research, as well as numerous local charitable organizations. This fall, employee teams were fielded to participate in all seven Walks that took place in Connecticut, in Enfield, New London, Norwalk, Litchfield, Danbury, New Haven and Hartford.
Companions & Homemakers, with 11 offices located throughout Connecticut, is a charter member of the Connecticut Chapter of the Home Care Association of America and an accredited member with an A+ rating of the Better Business Bureau.
“The caliber of care we provide is the most important measure of what we do, helping people to stay in their homes, where they are most comfortable,” said COO Bill Geiger. “This recognition deservedly honors the dedication and professionalism of Charming Rumble, and we are proud to say she represents Companions & Homemakers.”
