Connecticut Folk Festival and Green Expo Details Set

The expo and festival begins 11 a.m. on Sept. 12 at Edgerton Park near the Hamden-New Haven town line.

The 2015 Connecticut Folk Festival & Green Expo will take place on Saturday, September 12th in beautiful Edgerton Park, located off Whitney Avenue near the Hamden-New Haven town line. Free admission!

Connecticut Folk Festival hours: 11:00 AM through 10:00 PM 

Green Expo hours: 11:00 AM through 5:00 PM

Saturday, September 12th — 11:00 AM through 5:00 PM — featuring more than 75 “Green Living” exhibitors, educators, and vendors in New Haven’s beautiful Edgerton Park.

CLOTHING RECYCLING Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut will be conducting a Clothing Drive at their Green Expo booth. Please bring them your donations of “clean and in good condition” clothes and shoes. Anyone who donates a bag of clothing will receive a special gift from Big Brothers Big Sisters!

GIANT WATER FOUNTAIN The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) will be setting up a giant water fountain, near the Green Kids Activities area, for sharing the RWA’s high quality water. The fountain’s features will include both bubblers and water-bottle fill stations. So: refreshing and fun!

TIDEWATER INSTITUTE Connecticut Folk and Tidewater Institute have collaboratively coordinated this year’s Green Expo. Tidewater Institute implements a modern approach to environmental action through unusual partnerships, using 21st century tools that assist individuals and communities to make sustainable and cost-effective choices a part of everyday life.

CITY ATLAS: NEW HAVEN Over the last decade, the Green Expo has given attendees new and exciting ways to make small changes in their lives, helping them toward an environmentally-conscious lifestyle. This year Connecticut Folk has teamed with City Atlas: New Haven to celebrate “10 Years of Community Sustainability.” Help us look to the future by stopping by the City Atlas: New Haven vendor space (#70) between noon and 3:00 PM and sharing what changes you have made, or plan to make, based on what you have learned from the Green Expo’s incredible exhibitors and vendors. Remember: What you do makes a difference in the health and well-being of the place you live and the people who live there!

3 DEGREES/NORTHEAST CLEAN POWER is providing Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) for all of the electrical power that will be used at the Connecticut Folk Festival & Green Expo.
