Connex Offers College Scholarships
Credit Union members who are seniors in high school are invited to apply for one of three scholarships.

Connex Credit Union is currently accepting applications for their annual college scholarship program for students throughout greater New Haven.
Connex will award three scholarships, the Arthur B. Haesche Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 for a business student, the $1,000 Nicolas G. Hackett Memorial Scholarship and the $1,000 Connex Credit Union Scholarship.

These scholarships will be awarded to deserving students who can use the money toward tuition or other school-related expenses.
This year, students are asked to submit an essay on the topic: Describe in your own words what a credit union is, then convince a potential member that membership in Connex Credit Union is unique and beneficial via one of the methods below:

- Video option – create a commercial for a credit union.
- Creative option – create a print ad for a credit union.
Scholarship applications can be obtained at www.connexcu.org or at the Hamden branch at 2100 Dixwell Ave. Applicants must be college-bound seniors or college students and active members of Connex Credit Union.
Other requirements include a current GPA of 3.5 or higher, demonstrated community involvement and a copy of current transcripts. The deadline for application is May 7, 2012.
