Dancers shine at World Dance Championship

All ADE teams competed against the best of the best throughout the world

American Dance Experience was represented by 10 of their competition teams at the World Dance Championship in Secaucus, New Jersey July 30th - August 4th. This competition consists of dancers and teams from seven different countries around the world.

All dance teams competing had to be awarded a Golden Ticket at one of the Star Dance Alliance 300 regional or national competitions in order to qualify for the World Dance Championships. On Tuesday, the first team kicked it off with a Novice 11 & under small group tap routine to “Nicest Kids In Town”, which was the first year of competition for this group of dancers. Wednesday continued with a teen advanced small group tap routine to “All Aboard” and a teen advanced line hip hop routine titled “Welcome to the Dance”. Thursday was a busy day with four routines starting with two senior advanced small group routines, the first was a tap routine to “I Will Wait” and the second was a jazz routine to “Body Language”. Later that day were two senior advanced line group routines, the first was a tap routine titled “The Greatest Show” and the second was a jazz routine to “Let Me Think About It”. On Saturday, the teen intermediate large group performed a tap routine to “We Came To Smash.” Finishing out the week on Sunday with two routines; first was an intermediate junior small group tap routine titled “Party Time” followed by an intermediate junior large group tap routine titled “Rosie.” The groups spent additional time during the week leading up practicing and prepping for their World Dance Championship trip.

All ten teams performed their hearts out and danced their absolute best. “All Aboard” placed in the Final Five and scored a 4th place win and Best Costume award; “Welcome to the Dance” placed in the top 10 in its respective category. “The Greatest Show” placed in the Final Five and scored a 2nd place win. “Party Time” placed in the top 10 and an Excellence in Showmanship award and “Rosie” placed in the Final Five and scored a 5th place win. “All teams competed against the best of the best throughout the world. These kids put their heart and soul into each and every step they danced and should be so very proud.”I am beyond proud of all that they have done. They proved themselves on that stage and shined like the stars that they are," said owner, Alicia DeCesare-Corcoran.

While all the hard work of the past year paid off, it’s already time to wipe the slate clean and plan for the new season.
