The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has identified the hiker who died after falling off a cliff at West Rock Ridge State Park as Robert Anastasio, 26, of the Hamden area.
Anastasio fell from the cliff Sunday evening, said Cyndy Chanaca, DEEP spokesperson. He was identified using fingerprints and State Police records.
A witness called 911 around 5:30 p.m. to report a man falling from the cliff. New Haven Police, New Haven Fire and DEEP police responded.

The body was located at the bottom of the cliff and New Haven Fire personnel recovered it Monday morning.
