Dessert Fest, Free Summer Movie Series Announced In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Town Center Park Commission will host the 2018 Hamden Dessert Fest from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, officials announced. A dozen local and regional vendors will be serving up their specialties, ranging from hot donuts, cannolis, cupcakes, cinnamon buns, lemonades, fruit smoothies, popsicles, ice-cream and more. A number of regular food vendors will also be on hand.

Among the confirmed food vendors as of Monday are: Sugar Therapy, DiSorbo’s Bakery, Christiano’s Hot Donuts & Lemonade Truck, Elm City Kettlecorn, Lobster Hut, Burning Peel, Life Bowls, 3 Chicks Grill, J&W Concessions and Sugar Bakery.

“In addition to the Dessert Fest, Aug. 3 will mark the kickoff night for our Free Summer Movie Series,” officials wrote in a press release. “Join us for dinner and music before ‘COCO’ starts as the sun begins to set. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for a true movie night in the park. Parking is available at the Hamden Library, Hamden Middle School, Hamden Government Center, Hamden Memorial Town Hall and Police Department and on the South Lawn of Town Center Park.”

The Summer Movie Series will run every Friday night from Aug. 3 to Aug. 24 with the following schedule:

Friday, Aug. 3: DESSERT FESTIVAL with COCO

Friday, Aug. 10: JUMANJI

Friday, Aug. 17: HOLES

Friday, Aug. 24: THE GOONIES
