Driver Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash In Hamden: Police

The road was closed for several hours after the crash on Friday afternoon, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded to Circular Avenue near Beacon Street around 3 p.m. on the report of an accident involving two vehicles, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.

Dolan said one of the drivers was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue personnel and taken to Yale New Haven Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, identified as 76-year-old Harry Brunson of Hamden, later died from his injuries at the hospital, according to Dolan.

Circular Avenue was closed for several hours on Friday while the Hamden Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team investigated.
