Driver Killed In Crash In Hamden: Police

The road was closed for several hours after the crash on Sunday night, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash Sunday night in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded to the area of Shepard Avenue and Mix Avenue around 10 p.m. on March 26 on the report of a one-vehicle crash, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

Vey said the driver of the vehicle, 49-year-old Jason Carter of Hamden, was treated at the scene and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Hamden Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded, and Shepard Avenue was closed for several hours due to the investigation, according to Vey.

The road has since reopened and the accident remains under investigation, Vey said.
