Driver Seriously Injured In Crash With Tractor-Trailer: Hamden Police
The driver was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, police said.

HAMDEN, CT — A 22-year-old Darien woman was extricated from her vehicle and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a tractor-trailer early Friday morning in Hamden, according to police. At about 1 a.m. on Sept. 29, Hamden Police responded to the area of Whitney Avenue and Lovig Lane on the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said a preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle, which was operated by a 22-year-old Darien woman, crossed the “center divider line” and collided with a tractor-trailer. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The Hamden Fire Department responded and extricated her from her vehicle. She was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries, according to Smith.

The victim’s identity hasn’t been released by police.
