Eli Whitney Students Benefit from Stratford Businessman's Generosity

Grainger Industrial Supply in Stratford donates time and cash to vo-tech students.

Students at Eli Whitney Vocational Technical School, as well as three other vo-tech schools, had a lot to cheer about this week after receiving an invitation to an expo on cutting-edge technology -- as well as a $40,000 donation to go along with it -- from a Stratford businessman.

Thomas “Tee” O’Shea of Grainger, an indusrial supply firm in Stratford, this week gave students at Platt, Bullard-Havens, Eli Whitney and Emmett O’Brien vocational technical high schools first-hand instructions on the latest environmentally safe technologies in the cutting-edge presentation Wednesday at Grainger's Stratford headquarters.

As if that wasn't not enough, each school left with a check of $10,000 from the Grainger Foundation to pay for students to attend the national SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City and fund the latest in technologies for the classroom.
