Ring in spring with the Haven String Quartet as we close our 2011-2012 series with a celebration of youth!
In addition to W. A. Mozart -- perhaps history’s most famous child prodigy -- our program highlights the youthful energy of wunderkinds Felix Mendelssohn and Benjamin Britten, two extraordinary talents who successfully mastered the art of string quartet composition during their teenage years.
The Haven String Quartet will perform Mozart’s "String Quartet in B-flat, K 159," written at the age of 17; Benjamin Britten’s rousing "String Quartet in F Major ," written at the age of 15; and Mendelssohn’s fiery "String Quartet Op. 13," written at the age of 18.
