Hamden, CT (November 2, 2011) – Rent will take center stage at The Square Foot Theatre from November 17-20, 2011 in the Hamden Plaza (2100 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden). Tickets are now on sale.

Rent, one of the most famous rock musicals in the world,  is based on Giacomo Puccini’s opera La boheme. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in the Lower East Side of New York under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

The production, produced and choreographed for Quick Change Productions, is part of the theatre’s Adult Series and will feature a cast of 22 talented actors from the greater North Haven and Hamden area. The show is sponsored by The Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation.

Tickets for Rent are $20 and can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling (203)464-8212. Shows are at 8:00pm on Thursday November 17^th, Friday November 18^th, Saturday November 19^th, and at 2:00pm on Sunday November 20^th. The mission of The Square Foot Theatre is to establish and maintain a venue for visual and performaing arts through support and education while providing opportunities to experience the arts, through observation, hands-on participation and education.
