Fatal Shooting Investigated In Hamden: Police
One person was killed in the shooting, and three suspects fled the area, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Saturday on Mix Avenue in Hamden.
Police responded around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 17 to the 500 block of Mix Avenue on the report of a gunshot victim, according to Lt. Robert Manfield.
Manfield said arriving officers found an unresponsive person inside a motor vehicle. The victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where they later died from their injuries, according to Manfield.

An investigation indicates the victim had traveled to the area to meet with an unknown individual, according to Manfield.
“While on scene, three unknown suspects approached the vehicle,” Manfield wrote in a news release. “One suspect entered the vehicle and shot the victim. The remaining suspects then fired additional shots at the vehicle. All three suspects fled the area on foot.

“This incident is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives are actively following multiple investigative leads. There is no known ongoing threat to the public at this time.”
