Hamden, CT – Fiction writer Jessica Treat will read from and discuss her work at “Yawp! An Open Dialogue on Creativity and the Arts” at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Carl Hansen Student Center, Room 120, at Quinnipiac University, 275 Mount Carmel Ave. This event, which is part of a series sponsored by Quinnipiac’s creative writing program, is free and open to the public.


Treat, an English professor at Northwestern Connecticut Community College, is the author of three collections of short fiction, “A Robber in the House,” “Not a Chance” and “Meat Eaters & Plant Eaters.” Her stories, prose, poems and translations have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including “Quarterly West,” “American Literary Review” and “Black Warrior Review.”

Treat received an artist fellowship from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, the Dominion Review Fiction Award and artist residency awards at Civitella Ranieri in Italy and the Valparaíso Foundation in Spain.
