Firefighters Conducting Holiday Food Drive In Hamden

The food drive will benefit Hamden Community Services and the Hamden Food Bank.

HAMDEN, CT – Hamden volunteer firefighters are conducting a Holiday Food Drive to benefit Hamden Community Services and the Hamden Food Bank. Much like the Spring Drive, these continued efforts help to ensure that no Hamden family goes hungry.

Firefighters will be stationed outside of Stop & Shop, 2335 Dixwell Avenue this Sunday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accept food donations, cash donations, pet food and diapers.

Food products most needed are: turkeys, hams, cereal; box milk (1% or 2%); oatmeal; canned fruit; pasta, tomato sauce; juice; rice; canned vegetables; soups and beans (all varieties).

For the pets the needs are: kitten & puppy food; adult cat & dog food (dry and wet); treats & toys.

If the above days and times are inconvenient to make a donation, stop by the Keefe Community Center located at 11 Pine Street during the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
