Food Truck Offering ‘Dinner For A Dollar’ Makes Its Way Around Hamden

Church volunteers purchased and converted a 25-year-old postal truck into a food truck to bring meals to the people.

HAMDEN, CT — A new food truck offering “dinner for a dollar” is making its way around Hamden.

The Dinner for a Dollar Food Truck is run by volunteers from Grace & St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Hamden, according to FOX 61.

FOX 61 reported that the volunteers had been offering dinners at various locations in the area for years and decided to buy and convert a 25-year-old postal truck into a food truck to go where the people are.

The group received grants from the United Way of Greater New Haven, the town of Hamden and the Episcopal Church to buy the food truck, according to FOX 61.

There is a suggested donation of $1 for a meal, but no one is turned away.
