Free Steering Wheel Locks Offered In Hamden

The free steering wheel locks are being offered to Hyundai or Kia owners as part of the company's anti-theft service campaign.

HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Police Department is offering free steering wheel locks to Hyundai or Kia owners to help combat the increase of motor vehicle thefts.

The supply of steering wheel locks was provided by Hyundai, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

“Hyundai has distributed the steering wheel locks as part of their anti-theft service campaign, and will be given to anyone owning a Hyundai or Kia manufactured prior to November of 2021,” Vey wrote in a news release. “The steering wheel locks can be picked up, free of charge, at the front desk of the Hamden Police Department, 2900 Dixwell Avenue, at any time.”
