Girl, 3, Found Crying for Mother While Wandering in Hamden
A neighbor found the girl walking in the middle of the street at 3:15 a.m. and immediately called police.

A 3-year-old girl was found walking in the middle of Warner Street, crying for her mother, at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 18.
A neighbor located the child and immediately brought her into her home and called police, Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.
Officers responded to the residence of the child’s mother but she wasn’t home and couldn’t be located, Smith said.

Hamden Fire Rescue was summoned to the scene to evaluate the child. She was subsequently transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for further treatment.
Hamden Police have contacted the Department of Children and Families, who have commenced an investigation.
