Grant Funds Technology Upgrade At Hamden Middle School

Hamden state legislators applaud grant that will pay for 470 Chromebooks and other technical equipment to support classroom technology.

From CT General Assembly: State Representatives Mike D’Agostino (D- Hamden) and Josh Elliott (D- Hamden) and Robyn Porter (D-New Haven/Hamden) are hailing the approval of a grant-in-aid for a local school.

At a special meeting of the State Bond Commission, members voted to approve more than $245,000 in funding for Hamden Middle School.

“I want to thank the Governor and Commission members for signing off on this grant,” said D’Agostino. “Teachers are the primary force on the path to academic achievement, but providing them with the necessary tools and school environment is just as important. I expect this grant will add greatly to student achievement at Hamden Middle School.”

“Continued investment in education makes Hamden a destination town for new families,” said Elliott. “I applaud the work of Representative D’Agostino, and am proud to be part of one of the strongest coalitions in the state, along with Representative Porter, fighting for working families.”
