Post-Blizzard Cleanup and Safety
The Town of Hamden is continuing cleanup operations following the blizzard, and we are asking all residents to remain patient and safe as crews work to clear roads and restore normal conditions.
Our Public Works & Parks, Police, Fire, and emergency response teams are working tirelessly around the clock through difficult conditions to ensure public safety. Please do not crowd or follow closely behind plows, and please do not attempt to pass plows while they are actively clearing roads. Allow extra room for stopping, turning, and limited visibility.
This storm produced heavy, wet snow, which can be especially dangerous during shoveling and cleanup. Residents are reminded to take frequent breaks; lift smaller amounts of snow at a time; push snow when possible, instead of lifting; stay hydrated; and stop immediately if you feel chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or unusual fatigue. Please check on your neighbors who may need assistance.
